Archery

Brennan C. draws back to shoot. Brennan regularly comes to Silven's archery range where only 50 to 60 people have a membership.

Fire. Brennan aims at his target, a foam deer, from 30 yards away.

Brennan shows the proper form to shoot a compact bow. The archery range is almost all hunters who come to practice their aim at fake deer, bear, elk, pig and cows (young elk).

Brennan shows expert form after having been hunting for five years. Brennan says, "The range is pretty empty right now. Most people come in August to prepare for elk season in September."

Brennan relaxes as he looks out at the beautiful forest. Silven's range is ____ miles, with a mixture of ranges in the forest and out in an open field.

Brennan gives us a good look at his bow as he shows how to properly handle it. Brennan explained, "With bows you have to be very careful. If you accidentally touch the string with the arrow the bow will explode and you can die. If the arrow is weak it can break when leaving the bow and kill you. You need to always know what you are doing."

Brennan practices underneath the beautiful Oregon trees.

We are given a moment of sunshine as Brennan takes aim at a foam elk.

Contemplating the open field range, Brennan explains that most the members shoot out in the forest, but some shoot out on the open range.

Brennan shows off shooting at the farthest target, _____ yards. The members range from as young as 8 to 60+ and almost all come to the annual competitions in August.

Mormon Prom!

Junior Madelyn R starts getting ready for tonight's big event, Mormon Prom. Every year the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, better known as Mormons, host a prom where teenagers can come and have a fun night with people of their own standards.

David W's mom comes to take pictures of him and his date. David and Shayla, his date, are planning on attending the High Schools prom also, along with many others who go to both.
Smile. The couples have a great time joking around and having fun. Mormon prom is more relaxed as many of the couples just go as friends. David W plays with Shayla's hair as he gives her an affectionate hug. Mormon Prom is a little more casual than the usual prom but people still enjoy it just as much.David W and Collin C talk off to the side as the girls sit and chat with the moms for what seems like forever. They are ready to get going and head off to the dance. Lets roll. The group gets ready to head out to a dinner at 5 guys burgers and fries and then head off to the dance. As the group walks into the the Church's extravagantly decorated gym, they get a free group picture and then get to walk down the isleway and down the castle stairs. The group has a great time spending the dance with others, who like them have the same standards in dress, dancing, and music. Dancing the traditional way, teens enjoy slow dancing with their dates. At dances it is an "unstated" rule that the girl can never say no when a guy asks her to dance, giving you an opportunity to meet many new people. Party! Everyone enjoys the fun atmosphere as they spend the night with youth of their same standards. The church provides a dance once a month for teens to come hang out with their friends and just have a good time.

Day In The Life of...A kennel worker.

Ya that's the spot. Kasey gives a big St. Bernard a scratch on the head as she watches the dogs enjoying their free time outside. Along with St. Bernards, the Kennel is always full of a varity of different breeds. Tug-a-war! Kasey plays tug-a-war with a young lab out in the run, but to Kasey's dismay the lab wins the game. Go Fetch! Kasey throws a ball for an energetic lab as she and two other workers play with the dogs for an hour out in the runs. Spring time. Krista Reynolds sits in their new office as the spring sun comes through the window. The Reynolds family came up with the idea of an out door kennel a few years ago, their business is now thriving.
Nap time. Kasey Hammer helps put the dogs back in their kennels after an hour of play time out in the runs. At the Reynold's Kennels, the dogs enjoy a fun filled day of running, and playing outside, three meals, a warm kennel and lots of love from the Reynolds family.

Henri Cartier-Bresson Photo

I love this picutre because i like the simplisity of it. I love how little and adorable kids are when they are younger. There are a lot of different ways you could look at this picture. They could be best friends who spend every moment together and when they grow up they realize they love each other and get married or they could be brother and sister and something awful happens and they have to relay on each other. I just feel like this picutre is like the first chapter of a story and you get to make up the rest. idk i think its a cute simple picture
